Puppy rearing

Your long-time dream has come true and a puppy, an unusually cute, funny, awkward and charming, appeared in your home. He is two months or so. Usually during this period the puppy leaves the house where he was born.
Giving you a puppy, the breeder has to tell you a lot: did he have time to deliver the first vaccinations? And if so, which vaccine was delivered to him. When should be held revaccination. What food he is accustomed to and in what mode, how to gradually transfer it to another feed. And if there is a need for this, to whom to turn for advice and help, if there are questions related to the puppy’s health, upbringing and raising.
When buying a puppy, do not forget to ask the breeder when and what antihelminthic drugs were given to him and whether they managed to repeat this procedure. Until the puppy is fully vaccinated, it should not be on the street to let him down. This can be done no earlier than 10 days after re-vaccination. But in order to socialize a little puppy, it is quite possible to carry him out on the hands. It is very important that by four months the puppy already felt relaxed on the street and was afraid of nothing and no one. So that he was ready for full walks with you.
In order for a puppy to physically develop properly, he needs active walks. It would be good for these goals to select suitable peers for him in the neighborhood – medium-sized and with a docile nature, who are not necessarily inclined to aggressiveness. Physical activity should be introduced into the life of a puppy gradually, they can not be long in time. A small puppy sleeps quite a lot and you should not overload it with physical exertion, as this leads to a curvature of the limbs. First, it is enough to remove the puppy several times a day, preferably right after sleep, for 20-25 minutes (in warm weather). In winter, the first walks should be even shorter, especially on frosty days.
Do not start the walk with active games: they will distract him from the fulfillment of physiological needs, and then he will do them upon returning home. If you follow this rule, the puppy will quickly remember that the walk should begin with sending your needs. A couple of weeks and the puppy will seek to do their small and big things on the street. The more often you walk your puppy, the faster he will become accustomed to cleanliness at home. It is desirable that the dog is accustomed to a certain sequence and schedule: it is easier for him to live when she knows what is demanded of her. Every walk should be quite active. After the puppy dissolves in the street, he will eat well and go to sleep.
In addition to proper feeding, regular walking, puppy is useful to instill a number of useful skills:
A puppy should have its own place where it can sleep or simply breathe after active games. When the puppy is still small, he is easily trained and his behavior is easier to control. The main principle of raising a small puppy is the stability of requirements and permits. If today you allowed the puppy to sleep with you on the couch, you shouldn’t punish him tomorrow for trying to get on the couch.
Provide your puppy with several toys and do not let him bite on shoes, even old ones, because you can understand a growing up puppy that you can nibble old shoes, and you can’t use new ones. Small puppies prefer to play and nibble stuffed animals, which should not be too small, as the puppy can swallow them.
On the street, you should constantly remind your puppy that it is you who are walking him, and not him. If the puppy, being on a leash, suddenly ran away from you, do not rush to follow him in an accelerated step, but with a light tug on the leash, slow it down and achieve a tranquil step. But as soon as it becomes possible to pull him off the leash in a safe place, do not neglect it – let the puppy run under your watch. At the same time, occasionally call him by the team “to me” and encourage each his approach to you with a small piece of delicacy and approving words. When the baby grows up, you will be able to achieve impeccable and instant execution of this important team. Sometimes the puppy team “come to me” who has played with his peers simply does not hear. Do not scream in vain, but go to him, fasten the leash and lead to where you were going. In no case should he in such cases be afraid of your irritated approach – otherwise he will start running away from you.
If you are lucky to get a puppy in a good kennel and he is promising as an exhibition and pedigree dog, then it is worth taking it up to prepare for exhibitions. Basically at the shows, the judges evaluate the correctness of the puppy’s addition and the level of his breed. The same behavior of the dog in the ring has a special meaning. Cowardly tucking in stuff or not allowing to touch themselves, inspect teeth, etc., cannot count on a high mark. It is necessary to instill in a dog an exhibition behavior when she is still young, at puppy age.
